Wonder Books Workshop!

I'm very excited about my upcoming workshop at the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery. It's always been my favorite gallery so I'm thrilled they are hosting my little Wonder Books workshop!! We'll be creating 3 unique mixed-media spreads inside altered board books.... geared toward awakening our wonder, inner wisdom, and empowering our path... I have a few surprises up my sleeve so I don't want to reveal too much just yet!! You'll have to come see / experience for yourself ;)

Studio + Soul Rehab

I am (or was) thick in the process of inviting more order into my space. Home is so important to me. Creating a space where I feel alive and electrified is something I'm obsessed with. I'm a little off my rocker at times, moving things around, juggling this and that. My mind never seems to stop interpreting my space, or thinking of new ways to improve it. The past few months I went on a rampage clearing out cabinets, drawers, and closets. It all started when a friend of a friend came to town.

Linda Arlene Schwartz -- Intuitive Mystic, Spiritual Counselor, Transformational Bodyworker. 


When she offered to give me a reading along with taking a look at my space, I hesitated / resisted. Somewhere deep down I knew this would lead to another giant soul-stirring adventure. You see, I've been doing a lot of soul-work lately. I've had a few run-ins with Intuitive Angels who have done nothing but bless me with the exact guidance and wisdom I needed to step further along my path. I've been applying so much energy and effort toward emerging and healing broken bits that I wasn't so sure I could handle yet another Swift Kick in The Ass from The Universe.

I completely cleared the closet out & started it over FromZero. It formerly held vintage dresses from my Vintage Shop. They've now been moved to The Official Vintage Room. The closet in my studio? A symbolic gesture of the message I've encountered so much lately -- 

It's time. Come Out of The Closet. Be Exposed. Let go. 

Exposing the bare concrete. Unearthing the root systems. 

Healing. Getting back to what's essential. RECLAIMING. 

Doing all of this with my bare hands, by myself, for myself. 

Coming back together. Out with the stagnant. In with the useful, necessary, and ME.

I hope you enjoyed this mini-tour of my studio. You can see the space where I paint (on the black & white rug) which doubles as the backdrop for Jack & Tilly (my Vintage Shop). Studio Tuesday: Swift Kick in the Ass: Or What You Seek is Seeking YOU.

 

The view around here today.  The center image is an adorable magnet by Robin aka Well of Creations. I LOVE her creations. They're funky & inspiring. They have super-powers. You can get them here! The bottom shot is a couple new paintings in progress. The one to the left is actually the one from my video a couple of posts below! It had quite an evolution. A messy soul cleansing evolution.

Speaking of Soul Work.... On Friday: I had a spontaneous reading from an intuitive who uses crystals & stones as part of her process. She had a bowl of stones & asked me to pick out 7, then align them on the table top. She put this delicious oil on her hands & then spent some time w/ her hand over each stone/crystal. The message she delivered was powerful, perfectly timed, and provided me w/ some much needed clarity! The whole session was about 45 minutes. Days later & I'm still digesting it. In time I will share it w/ you. Let me just say our intuition is a powerful thing! If we ASK & LISTEN an answer or path WILL appear!

So... What do I do when I get home from this AMAZING spirit awakening SWIFT KICK IN THE ASS unplanned venture?? Plot a course?? Sail the 7 Seas?? Take over the world?? Nope. I drank wine & cleaned out a closet! I feverishly filled boxes with donations. I threw out a big bag of trash. Somehow the more inspired I become w/ life, the less attachment I have, & the easier it is to clear space! For even more energy to live & breath & work it's magic of course. Have you ever noticed that?? When in times of transition or awakening, the things in waiting get stirred. My house has made so much progress on the organizational front because lately - when I feel uninspired or down, I plot an area of the house to attack... rear back &  pounce. Instead of sitting there feeling sorry for myself, I'm gettin' things done. Then I feel better for gettin' things done, and the next thing you know I'm gettin' more things done. Snowball effect at its finest!

 All this talk about energy & intuition & swift kicks in the ass brings me to this: I'm joining a womens group locally. A pow-wow of creative energy workers. I don't know where this will lead me, but shortly after cleaning out the closet I found myself on a website & then I was sending a request to join the group & then I was getting a response & then...... the rest is yet to come, but I feel good about it. Hands up high, skirt twirling,  la-la-la good.
