  1. 1. Superman. Sappy, but because he helps people in trouble and doesn't seek glory for it.
    2. First of all I wouldn't tell anybody so I would have time to think about how I could use it to the best advantage for mankind and the earth in many different ventures that could self-perpetuate...like for education, water, recycling, clean energy, etc. For me...I'd buy a little red car and an isolated little house in the country. ;)
    3. That my son outlives me! And he's got a good start. (Severe congenital heart defects)
    4. I live on sabbatical--LOL! Housebound for 8 1/2 years. ;)
    5. My very next new project is going to be melted crayon art.
    6. Living this long has had enough daring scary things. I do not go looking for them--LOL!
    7. The main thing that holds me back is my body. I only have a few sessions a day of good time to do anything and everything--from art to cooking to laundry. Internally--it's my OCD tendencies. I have been struggling to learn to become a loose woman--LOL!
    8. My writing journal. Just writing my thoughts.
    9. I'd pass. Just want to be a better me.
    10. It's not one person--it's online videos. Seeing what other people are creating with such abandon--that inspires me!
    11. I was never able to do fiction--hehe! I'd like to make up a healthy me who could do whatever I wanted all day long again...and had the money to do it. And I would write a book and sell my art and handmade journals, etc. That's my made up me.

Can you tell I would love to win this!! :):)

1.Who's your favorite Superhero (or villain)?
    mrs. incredible

2.If you had a zillion dollars, what would you do?
buy a home in europe, probably italy. and in santa fe. pay off my student loans. attend an art retreat every year. buy a tumbleweed tiny house and a gypsy vardo.
donate time, materials and creative space to the community - i'm thinking that working with teen moms is in my future and a zillion dollars would help :p

3.What is your deepest, wildest dream?
to be the next shel silverstein (or, making successful art + poetry books!)

4.Have you ever gone on a sabbatical? Tell us about it!
ha. no. i'd love to. i need about a year to recoup from nonstop life, from being a mother before an adult. to get to know myself. i'd spend some time on a coastal town and read and write A LOT. a honeymoon would be nice, too, though.

5.What would you most love to learn about or do next?
i'm already *doing* (as in, in the process) several things that i love but i've always wanted to be a dollmaker. i think that's the next big thing on the horizon.

    finishing my memoir.

7.What holds you back?? (I will collect these answers & do a releasing ceremony!)
i don't even know. i need that sabbatical. the answers really do come in silence. a house of boys is rarely quiet.

8.What's your favorite place to go, collect your thoughts & get grounded?
barnes and noble. also, the great outdoors. i usually settle for a park but love the mountains and jemez springs for true, organic grounding.

9.If you could embody the essence of anyone (past / present), who would it be?
i think we can't help but embody some of the traits of those we admire, especially as we figure out who we are and who we want to be. i can't think of anyone whose essence i'd like to embody, specfically, though.

10.Who is your biggest inspiration? Artist / Writer / Speaker / Creative / Being
so many. louise hay has been instrumental in my life. i love the art and spirit of alexandra eldridge, and wayne white is awesome (i've watched "beauty is embarassing several times this year). i wouldn't be who i was if i hadn't read margaret atwood. andy warhol and john lennon are up there, too.

  3. 1. There was a show on when I was a kid called The Greatest American Hero. That guy! Because he wasn't really much of a "super" hero, but he did his best and did what he thought was right. And he was a teacher.
    2. Pay off the debts of myself, my family, and my in-laws. Move to Pt. Townsend, WA. Work full time (because I wanted to) writing and creating art. Donate a bunch. Create a non-profit for an organization that uses writing to heal for women and teens.
    3. The non-profit from #2. That's my deepest, wildest dream.
    4. No, but it sounds divine.
    5. I would most love to create jewelry that has a spiritual dimension to it. Something that you hold and has an energy.
    6. Quit my job. (Ahhh! I want it so badly but too afraid to even try.)
    7. Fear. Lack of $. Lack of benefits.
    8. My FAVORITE place is near the ocean. But I live in a landlocked state and rarely get to do it. So I guess my second favorite place would by my backyard...when the lawn has actually been mowed and the toys picked up.
    9. Joseph Campbell. Followed closely by Carl Jung.
    10. Professor Bear: He's a teddy bear who comes to life at night and writes people's blog posts for them so they sound brilliant!

  4. What a wonderful opportunity Carissa! Thank you for the chance!
    1) Hands down - Wonder Woman.
    2) A zillion dollars - I think I would first pay off any debt of mine & that of family/friends, take everyone on a relaxing vacation, share it with causes dear to my heart, and travel Europe.
3)Dream - a long, healthy life for my family & a business that keeps me home with my kiddies.
4)I have never had a sabbatical. But, it sure does sound nice!
5)I would love to start working on altered art canvases.
6)What do I want to conquer? My fear, which opens up all kinds of things. :)
7)What holds me back? I think insecurities, comparison, and that fear.
8)I love going for walks, getting OUT into nature, relaxing with my family, and a good book store helps me get back to center.
9)Jesus - unconditional love and selflessness
10)There are SO many people who inspire me every day...but, my children inspire me the most.
11)Hmmm, let's see... A sparkly, white unicorn (my daughter is obsessed with them right now - so it is what comes to mind)who spreads love & kindness where ever she goes. She sprinkles love glitter, leaves Starbucks on nightstands in the morning, grocery shops, and does laundry. :)
Thanks you Carissa! Have a beautiful rest of the weekend.

  5. What a fun giveaway !!

    1. Who's your favorite Superhero (or villain)?
    I don't think I have one, I guess I love more the «everyday heroes»

    2. If you had a zillion dollars, what would you do?
Pay off our house, buy one for my mom in France so she would not have to rent anymore, save a big bunch for our daughters' studies *never know where the kids want to go to school, don't want money to dictate it, if possible*, I really wanna *finally* see the world. I would build a place near Nature to gather people all year long.
Oh and as it is a zillion, I would have enough to rent a plane or two, and have my family come here in Canada for a HUGE gathering.

    3. What is your deepest, wildest dream?
Continue to paint, and having people resonate with it. Shipping it all over the world.
And I want to go in Space, too. (yes, this is two, I know).

    5. What would you most love to learn about or do next?
I want to learn how to recognize the constellations in the sky.
I want to learn how to make jewelry.
I want to learn woodburning. abstract painting. shamanic journey *deeper than what I already know about it*.
    I'm always learning something.

    6. What's the most daring, scary thing you'd really like to conquer?
Marketing my artwork to touch more people. It's scaring the hell out of me.

    7. What holds you back?? (I will collect these answers & do a releasing ceremony!)
The fear that I would lose myself in the process of becoming successful.

    8. What's your favorite place to go, collect your thoughts & get grounded?
    Anywhere near the water.

    9. If you could embody the essence of anyone (past / present), who would it be?
Buddha *see big or go home !*
    Sigmund Freud.
    Einstein.

    10. Who is your biggest inspiration? Artist / Writer / Speaker / Creative / Being
hmm Tim Burton, Wayne Dyer, in general people who follow their guts and are not afraid to go on the less traveled roads, my Mom

  6. A giveaway with some teeth to it. I'm game.

    1) Spiderman! I love the whole "shooting webs from the wrist" thing he has going. And I think his sarcastic humor is right up my alley.

    2) A zillion dollars is a lot. I don't think I would change my living arrangements much. I don't like to accumulate a lot of 'things'. But I do love to travel. I would do more of that. I would also like to anonymously 'gift' deserving strangers with cash and things they needed.

    3) That my children have rich rewarding lives and that they find fulfilling work.

    4) I have never taken a sabbatical, but I do think that I could go to the beach (not in the summer, I prefer the beach in fall or winter) by myself for a month and be very content. I am always with people and I would love the time alone. Hmm, maybe this should be the answer to #3.

    5) Crochet. I love the little Amigurumi patterns I see everywhere and I would like to try to make some.

    6) Skydiving.

    7) The thought that something will go wrong and I'll die (without learning how to crochet, see #5.)

    8) The shower or a long, long walk.

    9) Helen Keller. She was intelligent, persistent, brave, accepting, and had a love of learning.

    10) Women. The older I get the more I realize how lucky I was to be born female. I think we age so well. Most women I know are still growing and feel more energized than when they were in their 20's and 30's.

Thanks. That was fun. Fingers crossed.

10.Who is your biggest inspiration? Artist / Writer / Speaker / Creative / Being
Hmmmm maybe Georgia O'Keefe (that gal knew what she wanted and she went for it!) or Frida (painting while injured in bed? The determination!). And as stated above, Vincent!
11.Make up a crazy character and describe them + their hidden talents! There was once a lovely young girl who was a sleep painter. At night she would wander out of bed and create the most beautiful paintings. Every morning she would awake and discover what her sleeping mind had been up to!

  14. 1. Who's your favorite Superhero (or villain)? She-Ra! I know it shows my age, but I just loved the idea of a female warrior. Xena would be a close second runner-up.

    2. If you had a zillion dollars, what would you do? I would pay off my debt, buy a piece of land to outfit homesteader fashion, and create until the days fell. In all seriousness, I'd probably donate to several of my favorite charities, and give start up money for a home for mothers who are recovering from addiction.

    3. What is your deepest, wildest dream? To be a working creatrix -- to live freely and creatively in a way that restores and fuels my soul. To live in nature in a symbiotic way that doesn't destroy.

    4. Have you ever gone on a sabbatical? Tell us about it! Not really. I've gone on short walk-abouts on lots of occasions, but have never really been without a paying job.

    5. What would you most love to learn about or do next? I'd like to explore different media in my art, move deeper into self expression through trance/meditation art. I find it difficult to put aside sufficient time to do it, but its on my must-do list.

    6. What's the most daring, scary thing you'd really like to conquer? Fear -- of all sorts: money, financial burden, rejection, failure, etc. It is my quietly brooding companion. I work, little by little, to free myself of it, but would like to do something that really embodies a fearless attitude -- maybe ziplining? (Yes, I know it sounds somewhat random. Its how my brain works -- in symbols and such.)

    7. What holds you back?? (I will collect these answers & do a releasing ceremony!) Finances, time. I have 6 rescue animals in my home that cannot be kenneled, so I cannot leave them for more than a few hours. I have no regrets about that. It is my privilege to care for them. But, it will be a while before I can travel somewhere far, or overnight.

    8. What's your favorite place to go, collect your thoughts & get grounded? My living room. I've created sacred space in my home that gives me the absolute central peace that I've long desired. I also enjoy moonlight on the beach, since I live only about 12 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.

    9. If you could embody the essence of anyone (past / present), who would it be? Wow! That's a tough, tough, tough one. I've got lots of heroes...Amelia Earhart, Annie Oakley...women with strength, who owned their own power, demonstrated determination, and went with it.

    10. Who is your biggest inspiration? Artist -Ellen Rice (her Strength of Woman series speaks to me) / Writer - Erma Bombeck (she had an amazing way of laughing and healing the most serious of circumstances) / Speaker - Alisa Starkweather (love her Red Tent movement and the ideology behind it) / Creative - Way too many to name; I love people who can make something from something else and have it be beautiful and useful / Being - easy! My granddaughter, Lilah, who is the light of my life.

    11. Make up a crazy character and describe them + their hidden talents!
There once was a creature named Cloudy.
People sometimes described her as dowdy.
She was quite curvy and round.
    With lovely black hair, unbound.
    Her eyes were green ice.
    Her cheeks were right nice.
She wore dresses and smocks to the ground.
Breathy singing was always her sound.
    Most people didn't think twice,
    And certainly never thrice,
    When Cloudy came into town,
    In colors reminiscent of clowns.
But Cloudy was special, you see.
She lived with her soul wild and free.
    She wandered and danced,
    Chanted, sang, and romanced,
Under the moon, by the sea.
Her partner sometimes only the tree.
    And, as she aged well,
    Her story to tell,
Her soul lived wild and free.
And, Cloudy, is who I will be.

Hoping to WIN! This was a lot of fun. Thank you for the contest!

7 I hold me back. I think there is a block in my right knee, sorta like a brick

8 My inner space. It is a round tent like room & has a round cushy bed with purple and white linens. Through each opening of the walls I can enter a magical place; thus far I have been in a desert, on a beach, on the side of a mountain, in heart of a busy city, by a running stream. And my tent smells like my art studio. Sweet and arty and grounded

    9 Jesus – incredible!

10 I can’t pick any certain person, place or thing, Life is an inspiration

11 This one stumps me, so let’s call this one unanswered

  19. Hello, Carissa!

Since I was a little girl, my fave super heroes have been: Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl, & the Bionic Woman ~ empowered, strength (inner & outer), integrity, intelligence, & female!

Mmmm...If I had a zillion $$$? I would love to send each of my nieces & nephews to collage, paid in full, all 12 of them + my son. I would travel the world w/ my husband & son. I would create an art scholarship fund to send woman who cannot afford to attend art retreats....online workshops...art school...& even provide girls & woman w/ art supplies. I would purchase land surrounded w/ trees, ferns, moss, & definitely near water to create an oasis for women to come to, to get away...to heal...to renew...filled w/ peace, love, acceptance, & art. And, most of all I would be able to afford to send my sister to the best of the best Drs in the world to help her extremely rare health issue that she is journeying through right now. Plus, so much more as a zillion $$ is, well, a heck of a lot a of free flowing cash!! :)

My deepest, wildest dream: for my husband to retire early & travel w/ my loves.

What I would love to do next: attend an in person art retreat.

My fave place to go, collect my thoughts & get grounded: my deck that is shaded by an old gorgeous, grand walnut tree & barefoot in my backyard ~ 2 places I can visit almost instantly...but my all time fave place is near the water; especially, the beach. Mmmm....nothing more cleansing & relaxing than being near the water w/ sandy feet listening to the waves roll in, a breeze flowing through my hair, & the open sky above....w/ big fluffy white clouds as a bonus.

Thank you so much for the beautiful, generous opportunity! ~H♥~
