What's Cookin 'round Here

My little print lab! New prints filling my shop slowly but surely!

Exciting news, I have a NEW monitor!!!! Next to my new printer and snazzy chair!!! My little print lab is coming right along. I can't tell you how relieved I am! This came to me as a gift, from my mother in law (not officially "in laws" yet, but may as well be.) Do you know how freaked out I got in July when my monitor suddenly died?! I was derailed, just slightly. I saw it as a sign to focus more inward, and paint my heart out instead of worrying about scanning/printing and essentially getting my shop rolling more quickly..... I was disappointed, because everything seemed to going wrong all at once, and all these little tiny heckling voices turned into giant shouting baboons running wild. There was an entire circus in my head. You can read my initial thoughts right before the breaking point right here. Sometimes it takes these breaking points for me to really thrust forward and remember whats truly important........

Which brings me to this splatter of paint (?) I found on my walk yesterday. It's in the shape of a heart, do you see the heart there? The flash came on, because the sun was just setting, and it gave the heart this magical GLOW! I normally hate using the flash, and somehow my setting was on "auto flash" so it came on. Another little sign to love my path, myself, my fumbling, but also to just let things happen and stop trying to control the outcome. (I still hate the flash, but I get it!) These are messages/whispers/nudges I keep hearing from my walks. Maybe this speaks to you, in whatever moment you are in? I know the holidays can be such a stressful time......Wherever you are... know this:

"You are seen, you are heard, you are loved."

Last but not least... (I apologize for the fuzzy image, i took this last night when I got home!) A sneak peek at a new painting... You can't see the details, due to the fuzziness, so I will leave you on the cliff here and show you the rest in daylight when she's closer to finished! She has sewn tulle hair! And her face is sewn, and she has square earrings! She made her way onto one of the backgrounds I shared a few posts back.

Thats all I have for now.... I won't bother mentioning (or maybe I will!) that my mind is going 90 miles an hour over here. My dreams (while sleeping) are consumed w/ wacked out delusions (good/odd/indifferent.) I am so nervous to be packed in an auditorium w/ 100 other Artsy Folks. Trying not to focus on it, and focus on just getting it all together! Just a few more days........

If you have any light to share on doing a big bazaar like this, please shine it on me!!! I can use it!

Love + Light + All that Jazz,
Carissa

PS. I'm offering free shipping throughout the holidays on everything in my shop! Originals & Prints & All things here. After my show this weekend, I'll have a lot more time to focus on my shop and everything else thats been falling by the wayside around here, like LAUNDRY!

  1. Oh, Carissa! Remember our heart-filled walk? I love that love continues to follow you! I had one of those heart splats appear in early fall...and, oh my! I just went to find it and realize it was on 9/11. Weird. Anyway, it's here: http://www.choosingbeauty.com/2010/09/choosing-to-brake-for-love.html

I love that you are hearing that message. It is so right on. And you are totally gonna rock the bazaar. Don't forget change, pens, tape (you never know), camera, biz cards, receipts, and your fairy wings.
